Description

Includes one IBM LTO-9 EDLM scanning tape drive for use with the Scalar i6 and AEL6 EDLM iLayer feature. Required EDLM license sold separately for Scalar i6 (), but is included with AEL6000. This drive supports EDLM scanning of LTO-9 (L9) and LTO-8 (L8) media; LTO-7 (L7 an M8) and earlier media generations are not supported. Required EEB blades and Ethernet cables for internal library communication automatically ship with this drive as needed. The EDLM license is sold separately (LSC36-ALED-001A) and is required (one license per library) to use this drive. This drive can be mixed with other EDLM scanning tape drive generations. Customer installable, but phone-based installation (SSC36-NSYN-PB00) or onsite tape drive installation (SSC36-NTD1-000x) is recommended. A Bronze, NBD Gold or Gold Support Plan (SSC36-LLSE-xxxx) must also be added at the same service level as the system for each drive. Drive cables for data path connectivity (FC or SAS) are not needed and cannot be used with EDLM drives.
